I was so excited when Troy asked me if I'd take some casual pictures of him and Gatsby around downtown Omaha. I've never tried doing any pet photography, but this was a lot of fun. Thanks Kevin for coming along and helping.
I'm not going to lie taking pictures of a small dog with a generous personality did have its challenges. But I was lucky enough to get a few where he looked at the camera. Thanks again for letting me snap some pictures. Gatsby is adorable.
Pacific Northwest Road Trip: Photography
Kevin and I had a great eight day road trip in the Pacific Northwest last month (Portland, OR...Dayton, OR.... Hermiston, OR....Richland, WA....Walla Walla, WA...Spokane; WA....Coeur D'Alene, ID....Sandpoint, ID). I'm just now sorting through all the pictures. The scenery was incredible. From Mt. Hood, to Wine Country, to Multnomah Falls, the Columbia River Gorge, and the beautiful lakes and mountains in Coeur d'alene and Sandpoint, Idaho, the whole thing was incredible. Favorite part of the trip was definitely wine tasting in Willamette Valley, just an hour south of Portland. If you ever head out this direction, I'd totally recommend the bed and breakfast / vineyard we stayed at in Dundee Hills Wine Country Farm (trip advisor). If you go you have to try their Muller-Thurgau wine - I had never tried a wine made with these grapes before and it is wonderful. Other things I loved: Powell Bookstore in Portland, the restaurant Wine O'Clock in Prosser, Washington, renting a jet ski in Coeur d'Alane, and taking the ski lift up to the top of the mountain in Sandpoint. Biggest regret of the trip was packing two huge suitcases. That was a terrible idea.
Jeff + Traci: Omaha Wedding Photography
What a beautiful weekend. This is the type of weather every Omaha photographer loves and that everyone planning an outdoor wedding prays for. Jeff and Traci had an awesome wedding and I'm so glad they asked me to do the photography. They were married on Friday evening at Bella Terra, a really cool outdoor wedding venue near Omaha located in Glenwood, Iowa. This place is brand new and really unique with all the Italian theme touches.
Huge, huge thank you to Tiffani from Tiffani Jedlicka Photography for second shooting this wedding with me.
I hope you guys enjoy your pictures. You guys are so great together, it made taking the pictures really fun. I know there are plenty of photographers in Omaha to choose from so I'm really happy that you let me be such an important part of your day.
Professional Picture: Photography Omaha
I don't know many people our age that have a "professional picture" but looks like I inadvertently (and unwillingly) created one for Kevin tonight. I actually was recently asked for a professional picture and realized that I have absolutely nothing that will come close to working. So if anyone else in Omaha is in the same boat and needs a professional picture, definitely get in touch because I thought this was fun.
I'm photographing a wedding today, so last night I was brushing up on some posing techniques and other random tutorials on Kelby Training. I feel like it always helps to have some things really fresh in my mind when going into such an important day. So last night Kevin got home from work and I immediately pounced on him and begged him to put on his suit jacket and tie so I could take his picture and practice a few new things on him. Poor guy had apparently not had a great day at work and this was the last thing he wanted to do, but somehow I managed to talk him into it (I think he realized I was just going to keep bugging him until he agreed). But he drew the line at putting a tie on. I won't show you all the picture of him giving me dirty looks for making him do this, but I thought some of these came out well. Especially since I only had about 5 minutes before Kevin's patience wore out.
I'm jealous of all you Omaha photographers out there with kids. Kids don't have a say in whether they get their picture taken. Husbands do. I love taking pictures. And Kevin hates getting his picture taken. And nobody wants to see a bunch of pictures of our pet rats. This was a rare treat for me, so thanks babe. Love you.

Jessica and Jay's wedding album
I had so much fun shooting this wedding, and I can't wait Jessica and Jay to get their hands on their wedding album. I think wedding albums are so important. Your wedding dress gets preserved and stuffed in a closet somewhere... the flowers dry up... and even some of the memories of the day start to fad. But when I crack open Kevin and I's wedding album, all the memories and the feelings of the day come flooding back.
Jessica and Jay, hope you love your album and enjoy looking at it for many years to come.
Chris Lake: Bellevue Nebraska
Took an impromptu trip to Chris Lake in Bellevue after our friends Kevin and Karie asked us if we wanted to tag along to their parents' cabin. It was such a gorgeous day that all our work plans of work went out the window.
This was the first time I've got to hang out with little Alaina since she was born. She is such a sweetie. She just played in the sand and smiled the whole day.
Bill + Morgan
I have never met a sweeter or relaxed bride than Morgan. These guys were so fun to take pictures of and hang out with all day.
I partnered up with my dad again - click here to check out his available wedding packages for 2012/ 2013. Thanks again Morgan and Bill!
